Lucid Motors may now be offering additional paint protection and car wrap services to new and existing customers. I did not yet get verification from Lucid on this but an owner of a Lucid Air was getting some work done on his car and spoke to a Lucid Service rep who told him that.
That Lucid Air owner wrote on Twitter saying “heard from Lucid service today that they are working on offering Lucid car wraps for customers.” The individual is getting his Lucid clear wrapped now and needed to get new emblems from the Lucid Motors service center for the rear of the car. So during that conversation with Lucid service, they mentioned that they now offer this service.
Rivian also started to offer these services at their service centers this past week or so. “We’re pleased to have this opportunity to bring our proprietary design methodology and state-of-the-art paint protection films to Rivian customers as the exclusive supplier of factory direct PPF for their R1T and R1S vehicles,” said Tim Hartt, Vice President – Technical Operations & OEM of XPEL.
Based on a poll we did in April, only 18% of Lucid Air owners are not doing some sort of paint protection on their new electric vehicles.
Anyway, here is the tweet, you can click on it to see the thread:
Customers in the Lucid Owners Forum are excited about this new offering but do wonder how long it takes the company to perform these services.
I will email Lucid to confirm and if I do hear back, I will update this story.
Update: It is not yet available based on customers, but I have yet to hear back from Lucid on this yet.
It's not available yet. I was told its in process, in planning stage so stay tuned!
