The big question both Lucid investors and those who bough the Lucid Air is how many cars in total will Lucid Motors be able to deliver by Q2 2022? If I had to guess, I would put Lucid Motors delivering between 900 and 1,200 cars in Q2 alone, putting the total cars delivered between 1,560 and 1,860 by June 30, 2022.
How Many Cars We Know Lucid Motors Delivered
- In Q4 2021, Lucid said they delivered 125 cars directly to customers, while producing 400 cars in Q4.
- In that same Q4 earnings report, Lucid said a total of 300 cars were delivered including the 125 that quarter.
- In Q1 2022, Lucid said it delivered 360 cars to customers in Q4 alone, while producing 700 cars in that quarter.
- In the Q1 2022 earnings call, Lucid said in April it delivered 300 cars alone.
How Many Will Lucid Deliver By End of Q2 2022?
So if Lucid is able to produce a minimum of 300 cars each month in April, May and June, that would be an additional 900 cars at a minimum. 900 cars added to the 300 by end of Q4 and 360 plus in Q1, plus an estimated of 900 more brings us to 1,560. If Lucid can hit more deliveries, maybe Lucid can deliver up to 1,800 to 2,000 cars in total by the end of Q2 2022?
Again, this is all just estimates and I do believe, based on watching what Lucid buyers are saying in the forums about them receiving their cars, that Lucid has ramped up production. So I think Lucid hitting 1,800 is realistic by the end of Q2.
Lucid To Deliver 12,000 to 14,000 Cars By Year End
Lucid Motors did reiterate in their Q1 2022 earnings statement saying “Lucid reiterated its 2022 production volume outlook of 12,000 to 14,000 vehicles and ended the quarter.” So Lucid does think it will be able to really ramp up production in the coming months.
If Lucid is able to deliver 2,000 cars by June 30, 2022, the company will have to then deliver an additional 10,000 cars to hit that estimate and they did sound very confident they will do so.
Personally, I hope to see the Lucid Air I ordered in my driveway in 6 weeks from now – but I would not be surprised if that gets pushed off to 10-12 weeks from now. I hope it is not pushed off but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is.
